Looking at their history and strategies from 2010 returning to Canada close to minerals, hydro, a similar culture,and now ev manufacturing is a given.
Lithium Hydroxide has been their main play for NCM 811 batteries.
The intellect on LFP battery tech is in Quebec and was responsible for the move an success by EV manufacturers over the last few years to Lfp.
It makes sense for Nortvolt to capture and build into the Lfp market with the intellect and structures already there.
They are about to do an IPO and the expectations are very high, meaning they will be wealthy enough to invest into chemical conversion and not have to rely on a third party which historically, for them, either did not happen or was late.
VW would be happy.
