First off, I pretty much agree with everything
@GT3loui mentions in his 2 recent posts.
Just to elaborate on the LG delay a bit. We were led to believe that an OTA was coming soon and we would hear something by the end of May. On May 15th is when the
Stellatis dispute was made public and when the brakes were put on the on-going construction, but I feel that even prior to that LG was already voicing their disgruntledness with the Canadian government and likely this would have also trickled down to the ears of Sayona who in my opinion was about to announce an OTA. Announcing an OTA would definitely take a bit of leverage away from LG / Stellantis to negotiate with the Canadian government and so that too would have been placed on pause, fitting in with our delays and no way for the company to tell us why.
10 days after the Stellantis / LG construction halt, Sayona announced a $200 million CR. Was this a direct result of not knowing if or when the dispute would end? I am sure they could go re-negotiate another deal, but by the time the contracts would have been drawn and lawyers pushed papers back and fourth on a new contract we could be looking at 4 or 5 more months. Perhaps James B and Allen B felt that sting from previous deals that were supposed to happen and did not and initiated a knee-jerk reaction, likely we will never know.
Now that things with the Canadian government have been smoothed over and construction has recommenced, I expect our announcement is coming as well, likely this week.
One thing not pointed out so far or at least as far as I can tell. In the contract with PLL, LG took a $75 million dollar equity stake in Piedmont thus giving Piedmont much needed cash for what amounts to 200,000 tones of spod over 4 years. A deal with Sayona would be for more spod and likely for OTA of LCE as well. Would they then provide $$ into our project(s) as well? Could either Amos or the carbonate plant be fully funded?
What about Moblan, would LG want to get in now prior to the final drill results being revealed? Could they buy out SOQUEM in full or split SOQUEM's shares with Sayona? There are all sorts of possibilities.
