all bids are in, and per the ssip rules no NEW bidders would be allowed. We are in the decision phase. If a decision can not be made then we would go to the auction phase. When bids were placed each bid had an expiration date, if memory serves me correct it was initially sometime in April. The monitor has requested each of the bidders to extend the expiration date of their bid to July 31 and each has agreed.
The next step would be a decision.
Since there are 2 facilities that are going through this process (Nemaska and NAL) it would be quite possible that a bid may have been received for both (NAL and Nemaska) from the same bidder with the intention that if one falls through they might get the 2nd. Since Nemaska is a much larger deal it seems fair to assume that it should be figured out first. A news article posted last week indicated we could here the results of Nemaska on this coming Monday.
