From what I can tell, when SYQ took over NAL, it was on the proviso that downstream processing had to be commenced in a specified period

No where that I can find does it say that it has to be for any particular chemical process.

Nor does it say how far downstream they must go.

With that in mind, I suggest that if SYQ was to start producing an intermediate product, (either on their own or with other parties), they will have fulfilled their obligation.

Much has been said about what will be happening at the paper mill at Amos.

I am no engineer but I am thinking repurposing the facility to produce an intermediate product would be much easier, quicker and less expensive than repurposing it to refine lithium hydroxide.
