This is an interesting and quite often overlooked point.

    Energy.....Electricity...access and its availability.

For the moment in Quebec and Canada, it is not an issue.

But there are energy requirements in the hundreds of GWatts, that are continually being requested and forwarded to the relevant ministers.

I have written about this before.

In the mid term, these minister, National/Quebec/Ontario, recognise it will be problem and they have already started addressing the impact
that all this new energy transition will require.

From charging networks, all the way back up to primary production of the elements, materials and chemicals.
Its almost ironic, but the EV revolution is heavily dependant on electricity, the more we get along the transition, the more we need.

So where will all this power come from, for all these new operations in Canada, Ontario and Quebec?

Gigafoactories, EV production, cell production, mines, processing and refining....

It is a problem that has already gained traction in Canada and is being investigated...enough to know that if something is not done asap, there will not be enough power for ALL the new players to enter.

Power, will have to be rationed, and how do you decide who gets what?

Will the lack of power availability, actually stifle the investment in Canada?
Investors who are counting on the ESG credentials, availability and low cost of power in Canada?

The established players, such as us, are first in line, so I don't think we will have an issue.
But newer players, in say 5-10 years time, as would befit many of the new players currently exploring, where will they fit in?

And I know this because someone once told me that if RIO was to take us over it would not be for what you think.

It would be for the rights we hold to Quebec's green hydro power.

So, at least its a future issue that we will not have...or will we?

Does the departure of Lynch, threaten the inroads and connections we have made in Quebec and Canada?

I hope not, and I would like to think that Guy is championing our cause on that front.
And I would also like to think, that our first mover advantage will keep us ahead of the game in terms of these periphery issues, that others may face in the future.

    Good luck everyone...
