Firstly, this is today. Most people look into the future for modelling. Our renewable use is already skyrocketing. Secondly its been shown that EV's charged off of fossil fuel energy are still cleaner than petrol diesel cars.
Lastly your numbers are off which shows how quickly the transition is happening.
Coal - 69%, Gas 15%, Hydro 7.2%, Wind 6.7%, Solar 0.3%.
What do you think these numbers will be by 2030 considering investment in Coal is now zero and renewables are getting a huge amount of investment.
Nuclear is just a delaying tactic, the coalition had 10 years to do it and didn't bother, they are using it now to stall. If we did build a plant it would take 15 years, cost billions and billions of dollars and that's before you even start the years long legal process to try and find a place to put it because I can bet you dont want a nuclear plant next door to your house.
