Price reporting agencies state in terms of DMT to keep things simple.
Every shipment is going to have different levels of moisture.
Some producers have more moisture than others.
So you see it wouldn't make much sense for agencies to report in WMT or for buyers to pay on a WMT basis.
On the other hand, it is much simpler for producers to describe production metrics in terms of WMT.
