The Government of Quebec does not only want others to develop the ev battery industry, they also want to be hands on themselves.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that through their government owned agencies Investissement Quebec and SOQUEM they actually have skin in the game.
Through IQ, they own 50% of Nemaska and through SOQUEM 40% of Moblan.
The voters of Quebec will not let them fail.
It remains to be seen whether government remains directly involved or quietly exits once those operations are firmly bedded in.
I suspect they will do the latter.
