Authier being put to BAPE when it literally wasn't needed, Sayona pushed for that, Justin Trudeau name dropping us and visiting NAL, extreme levels of community and first nations engagement etc.
Sayona, most likely with the help and support of thr Canadian and Quebec governments, are doing the groundwork to become a long term leader and trusted player in Canada and North America.
Just my thoughts on this but the level of ground work they are doing is not for a short term outcome of just proving up a great resource to set up a buy out. They are building something long term with brownfield rejuvenation and community support for the long term imo.
