Yes it would be in part but its the battery insurance companies are worried about..these things are catching on fire quite a lot and pose risks so insurance companies arent taking any chances and those costs get passed onto consumers..and right so..

why should an ICE user have to pay for someone else bad decisions..

look the insurance aspect is just one issue of many for EV users and for the time being EV users will jst have to keep on running 2 vehicles..the ev one and a trusty reliable combustion vehicle..also its a good idea to keep a small petrol generator in the boot as this will save them a lot in towing costs..

the time cost to EV owners waiting for charge also must be considered..but that's a personal thing that ev owners don't place much value on their or anyone else's time..

the roll on effect will be companies like sya having to go the expensive road and find new things to dig up as the forcasts were wrong and the demand just won't be their..
