My theory is the reason it was done in a block trade - as opposed to to PLL announcing it was offloading SYA to market and to attract a bidding process is that PLL needed to sell to a select set of buyers. The block trade enabled PLL to off load SYA without announcing to market in advance that it was intending to divest, ensuring they would receive a set amount. Mean while CG can sell block trade to a range of interested parties ( non Chinese I hope) and get their commission. I think we will hear in not so distant future who these parties are. PLL needed to off load for cashflow reasons, but also can't kill the golden goose by selling to anyone Share price is volatile, just need to ride the waves for now.
