If the only reason to hold now is because if you sell you will make a loss, then that is no reason to hold. If you hold and the SP goes lower, then you have lost more.
The only reason to hold now is if you believe that in the future the SP will improve or really has bottomed out. The "happy crowd" have been wrong so far, horribly wrong, so their credibility is shot.
A few crystal balls have shattered lately and the fall continues to shatter more today. At least the bottom is no more than 4c away right now.
