All OEMs in the US seem to want hydroxide not carbonate. Tesla's hydroxide plant will eventually support 1 million cars per year. My bet is that we will have a carbonate plant at NAL and all our carbonate will eventually go to Tesla's Texas hydroxide plant.
What I found interesting was that turning hydroxide from battery grade carbonate is very easy, but refining carbonate from spod is very difficult.
So many variables in this big jigsaw puzzle.
