At the moment, SYQ is uniquely positioned as the only spodumene concentrate producer in North America.
That first mover advantage will soon disappear.
In a recent interview, Paul Graves (Arcadium) said how OEM’s are wanting certainty of supply.
They would prefer not to deal with multiple suppliers.
What do they want?
Basically, all that the supply chain can offer.
At present, SYA can offer only spodumene concentrate.
Where else can SYA participate?
LiOH is probably out of the question because Arcadium has beaten them to the punch by having commenced construction of one in Becancour.
How long would it take for SYA to have it’s own hydroxide plant?
Three years, five years,??
As I see it, SYA will be able to fill some of the gaps but not all of them.
So what do they do?
Is it LiCO from NAL?
Is it mid-stream chemicals, NAL or Moblan?
Or will M & A decide our future?
