A few days ago @UndR8ed Cat touched on the subject of microwave calcination of spodumene.
I did some further reading and found out Hertz Energy has acquired the IP for it and want to deploy it after it is proven at pilot stage.
This is being done in with the cooperation of Penn State University.
In the abstract put out by PSU, it mentions that a sample of lithium ore was provided by Piedmont Lithium Inc from their Carolina claim.
This means that PLL are aware of the novel technology and the logical conclusion would be that SYA are aware of it too.
If the technology proves to be a success, microwave calcination could become part of the process at NAL and other projects belonging to PLL and SYA.
