Do you think the car manufacturers give a toss about the Australian market? They are NOT sitting in their offices deciding they'd better keep the back corner of the factory going and pumping out ICE 4wd for boys n girls in Australia! Evidently a few drive across the country towing caravans! Here's an insight to where 95% of car travel around the world is. Its short trips. The EV market will sort it out over the next years and find out what is most popular. A 500-600k battery range prob sounds alright for 95% of car users around the world. The 95% ( prob higher) dont need a vehicle to tow a caravan ! Ahh the land of Oz and our need to be able to drive from Melb to Sydney! WHO drives to Sydney? And don't say Truckies ( different market altogether). Get used to the idea, EV's are coming by the bucket load and sadly you may only have one option to pull a caravan. And you'll be recharging a few times. And no, i dont own an EV. Totally overpriced at the moment but every month we here stories of price reductions. And if i get one, won't need to tow a $100k 2 axled caravan ( oh are there any single axled caravans these days? ). Just frustrates me all the chest pumping here " oh they won't work here in Oz!". In 20 years you prob wont have a choice.
