It makes perfect sense for PLL.
Buy a tonne from the JV at $900 per tonne.
Sell that tonne back to the JV refinery at $1500
So PLL have made $600 per tonne with no transportation costs!
The JV refinery then processes that tonne and sells it for $15,000. PLL receives 25% of the $15,000
