I am interested to know what would happen if Sayona and Piedmont invited a chemical company to join them at SYAQ?
As the chemical company would see itself as the saviour of downstream processing at NAL, would it demand something more from the joint partners than just a share of that project?
Could they demand a similar bundling at Moblan?
To do that, Investissement Quebec would need to divest their share of Moblan to PLL and a chemical company, such as LG Chem, (who PLL already has a commercial agreement with them) or with POSCO or the like.
LG Chem are also a major shareholder of PLL.
The Northern Hub will need a strategically located downstream or midstream facility to service its needs. In my opinion, that is beyond the capability of SYA to do, without the involvement of a chemical company.
