FYI general cargo ship TAAGBORG is two thirds of the way across the Pacific bound for Zhenjiang, China.

It will arrive there on 10July.

Having tracked ship movements for the last six months, I have been able to identify what I believe to be a shipment being despatched at the rate of one per month (this year).

Usually when a ship is getting close to China, another one will have departed the Port of Quebec.

This time I have not been able to find one.

Reasons for this could be that there has been some delay, or they have commenced transporting to a different location eg Texas or they are anticipating being able to send a double load via the North West Passage when it is clear of ice.

Last year they were able to get a shipment through the NWP in late August.

Given that passage via that route takes about half the time as via the Panama Canal, they may want to try it again.

As well, the drought conditions that limited the size of loads able to transit the Panama Canal have now eased and bigger loads are possible.

My preference would be that all of the spod from NAL is now going to Texas.
