Paddywagon, the NY Times is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party but I do think the US is looking forward to EVs however infrastructure has had the ball dropped. Almost $6bil was set aside over two yrs ago for charging stations nationwide and only a handful have been established. thats on this Admin no one else. Until Americans have a viable option to recharge quickly and availability numerous, it will be an uphill battle. thats a reason why toyota is pushing hybrids here. will it happen, yes but we will lag behind europe and others. our states are as big as countries in europe and cities are not central. that and our impatience while traveling will be a big hurdle. americans love their cars and trucks. travel will always be a key component here. jmho, glta
