Kinterra Capital are behind a move to create a battery metals hub in the Abitibi Region of Quebec.

You can’t have a battery metals hub without lithium and you can’t get it unless someone is mining it, (preferably close by).

To kick things off, Kinterra Capital has created a new portfolio company to oversee the creation of the hub.

Their first move has been to buy the mothballed paper mill at Amos which they intend to use for processing nickel.

It will be interesting to see what else they are planning to do and whether it will involve the Government of Quebec?

At the moment there is only one lithium miner in production in the Abitibi Region, (or pretty much in all of North America for that matter).

I kinda like the idea that SYAQ could be are participant in a battery material hub rather than a sole operator.
