Not sure that's correct is it...l own Pilbara Minerals and its the top shorted stock an has been for a very long time even when its SP was trading above $4 its currently being shorted by over 21% with only a third of the SOI we have and Flight Centre was at the top at one stage when its SP was around $13 and its still being shorted with around 10% of the company and the maggots attaching themselves to Flight Centre whose SP is trading over $21 at this time so thinking it matters not to the maggot shorters what stock they hit as long as there is a likely downturn in that business they jump onboard...to me its more likely it has nothing to do with SOI it just means they get to short more shares as compared to others when you look deeper at what company's are being shorted and the business imho.
