You guys can keep making up your own rules about the boards independence, but the fact is, once an independent chairman is appointed, Sayona will comply with the ASX's recommendation in this area. Also, Contrary to what Cowboy is trying to push, Buckler and Lucas "meet the criteria for independence'. I don't give two sheets if they worked together 20 years ago, the ASX is happy that they're independent and no amount of whinging is going to change it.
When an independent chair and another independent director is is appointed, you lot will have yet 1 less thing to hang the Board on.
