This is the forecast position of TAAGBORG and the route it will take to get to Quebec where I expect it will pick up a load of spod from the Port of Quebec.
It is quite possible that it will cross the path of another ship on the same route coming in the opposite direction and carrying spod from NAL to Northern Asia.
The window of opportunity to use the North West Passage should extend into early October from what I have read.
The more loads that can be fit into this window the better it will be for the joint venture, cost wise.
I doubt that any of this would have been possible without Glencore acting as a marketing agent for the joint venture.
Still, I look forward to the day when NAL won’t have to ship spod and it can be refined in Quebec.
