The Government of Quebec (Investissement Quebec), are half owners of the lithium hydroxide plant being built in Becancour. It is likely that the plant will be built before the Whabouchi Mine in the James Bay region will be ready to produce feed, (they also have a 50% stake in it).
I would think they would be keen to have an alternate source already producing which is closer to the plant by several hundred kilometres.
