Think of worsening climate change and related disasters that drive people to energy efficient means, whilst we hopelessly try to achieve a united front on tackling climate change. China is on the right path, whilst the west struggles to come to terms that the technology that has propelled it to dominance has simply become obsolete in just a decade. Self driving cars and drones will become prominent in just 5 years as we become familiar with drones flying overhead (powered by lithium) and aerospace will embrace new generation lithium batteries that make the batteries we have today ancient. Lithium will be needed and in much larger quantities then even some of the analysts predicts. Even Trump will be forced to humbly admit the world has moved on
