The ' Contango ' in the Lithium market was talked about back last year when the hedging was mentioned. Now Hypothetically speaking here. And given it was my understanding that the Tesla offtake had a finite ending date of 2025. Has it actually officially been extended ?

So back to the Hypothetical in relation to the BUILD of physical lithium stocks planned into the 4th Quarter of this calendar year. We all know the lithium market on a delivered basis is anticipating higher prices moving forward. And this would especially be the case if Tesla ( or someone else ) all of a sudden were in a position to ramp their chemicals production for immediate delivery and use right here at home in the North American Market.

So in a situation like this were potentially overseas demand also spike's . The forward contracts will have to be met with the actual PHYSICAL stocks being delivered. If there are NO stock , then we have a potentially similar situation unfolding to that of what occured in the silver markets just a couple of years back when the London Metals Exchange did not have the physical stocks to deliver for a large forward order falling due.

So whoever is holding the physical stock will pretty much also hold all the cards should a black swan type hypothetical event unfold ( albeit ) in the smaller but specialized lithium markets.

You can actually compound the issued if you are then using the stock ( spodumene ) as contributed inputs towards a venture where carbonate might be the order of the day. And of course ALSO produced right here in Sayona's home market. Either way , it could get very interesting later in the year....
