I seem to recall another small MC entrant a few years back, less than 10 Million and barely hanging on, now they are in production and are the largest spodumene producer in N. America. A few things to consider are that Canada and IQ are sort of desperate to get the supply chain figured out, they have spent billions attracting Honda, Ford, VW and Stelantis and I don't see them wanting to lose those giants over a relatively small investment by comparison. Also IQ has already invested in Nemaska and their Hydroxide plant to the tune of over 400 Million, they are also holding 40% of Moblan, I think they will want to ensure their investments have the ability to grow. Because of their involvement with Nemaska they would certainly want the next plant to have an operator who knows what to do, and would place a high value on it.
