Interesting interview JW thanks for putting it up. His comments on price and running costs making policy rather meaningless aligns with my own thoughts on the issue and we are seeing that playing out now in China where it simply doesn't make much sense for the average car buyer to even consider ICE vehicles.
When something is cheaper to buy, cheaper to run , improves air quality especially in cities and by most measures simply a better vehicle then it's off to the races.
Thats being reflected in sales in China in particular, which are away up on the same time last year, and will continue spread outwards. Thats aside from BESS requirements.
When it reflects on higher Lithium prices is a bit of a coin toss, but it will.
The figures from Cina below are quite extraordinary and will almost certainly gather pace untill they taper off as they get nearer 80% penetration, but still continue. Norway has already shown us what happens, initially driven by big incentives but even incentives don't work unless the product is compelling...
