I fail to see how an EV is not already cheaper to build. An EV has an electric motor and a battery, there are no pistons, no carburetors, no water pumps, no radiators, tail pipe, no gas tank, no catalytic converters, no engine block, no mufflers, and no pollution control components.

Maybe i am over simplifying it a bit but basically we need an electric motor a drive train, and a battery, this has to be far less labor intensive than an ICE vehicle and at a cost of 65 kwh the average 70 kwh battery would cost only $4500, the electric motor itself weighs less than 200 lbs, it baffles me why an EV costs more than an ICE car.
