For the month of March, PLS shipped ~135,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate.

Of that amount, -28,000 tonnes did not go to China.

A load of 17,200 went to Gwangyang, South Korea and 11,200 tonnes went to Bahudopi, Indonesia.

Unofficial sources report that a lithium hydroxide refinery has started at the Morowali Industrial Park at Bahudopi.

It is believed that at nameplate, the refinery will have a capacity to produce 60,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide per year.

There are a few interesting developments that come from this information.

Firstly, that they were able to build a lithium hydroxide refinery to commissioning stage without anyone knowing.

Secondly, that more countries outside of China are able to refine hard rock.

If we tally them up, there is South Korea, Indonesia and Australia, (has some issues).

Soon, Canada, America and Europe will have refining capacity

This is encouraging for all lithium miners, as it gives them options outside of China to have there product refined.

It will be good for Elevra Lithium when refining in North America comes on line, (this year would be good).
