Interesting rehash of previous information. Grade at the expense of economics is not necessarily better. Conversely , continuing with poor grade at the expense of economics is not obviously better , but must carry its own reasoning's . Because you can't change the Geology , nor can you readily change the Pit designs and flows overnight. And if its outside of the scope of the original designs , then I agree there may be more feasibility studies required and maybe even more permitting.
But remember too , that Sayona for its FIRST 4 years was subject to the CAD $50 million per annum mining contract ....., and which only has another year and a bit left on it I reckon. So there are constraints with this and / or even some benefits to hack away at the higher cost for now while revised Pit required pit share is contemplated ...., and while the cost to mine may be higher or lower in the current cost of production calculations.
Either way , it has a certain amount of ' Re- negotiation ' leverage if you will if they want to sit down and nut out a new one when this one expires.
The Carbonate Refinery. Well that's a whole different story isn't it. They could have taken other avenues as well ......But didn't. Someone else did though.....
