    Not really. In the context of the share price consolidation, which is what is being discussed here, the share price rising doesn't lead to the market cap rising. In the example of the consolidated share price being $2.40, the market cap remains exactly the same due to the correlated reduction in SOI.

    Without a share price consolidation, you are correct in noting that market cap and share price are fundamentally a reflection of each other (e.g. the share price is market cap divided by SOI, and market cap is the share price multiplied by SOI).
