This is the part that a lot of people tend to get wrong. If you break down the cost of a lithium ion battery, you will find that lithium accounts for only about 10% of the battery pack cost. Today most batteries are at or below $75 per KWH, which means lithium only accounts for $7.50 per KWH. A typical 70 kwh battery has about $525 worth of lithium in it, so even if lithium prices doubled you would only be raising the price of a car by $500 bucks. Its not like that will break the bank on $35,000 to $80,000 vehicle.
