i think it was Dougal ( the general spokesman at the time )who mentioned a proposal/ OTA had been presented to the BOD by BL but it was eventually rejected by the BOD.
Who knows what any proposal may have contained or who might have been behind it but it obviously wasn't on acceptable terms at the time and given that happened at the start of the Lithium crash I doubt it would have come to much regardless. Nothing was going to proceed on the refining front untill the mine and concentrator had gone through its ramp up and proved viable, which is a work still in progress.
Not long after that Brett quit and they raised $200m which itself is an indication talks which we know from quarterlies had been ongoing for a long time, didn't come to anything and SYA needed to strengthen its balance sheet.
