Sorry to shutter your dreams but Piedmont already has enough of a stake in Sayona to block anyone else from attempting a takeover so nope I can't see it being the other way around.
As far as any takeover goes it will come as a "merger of equals", "value creating opportunity for shareholders" "consolidation of assets to reduce costs" or some other fancy terms they will use to describe the takeover without a takeover premium where SYA will receive PLL shares instead of cash. And will not ruin anything as management will fully support it and will get a seat at the table. You know it makes sense.
