This is a bit misleading because the size of the US (Tesla) factories is way bigger than the ones in China. I.e. 1 Texas sized terra-factory might be equal to 40 to 50 smallish Chinese factories. Even at that the US is still behind, but the divide is not as great as the numbers are suggesting.
