Mine asked me last week how long before you make $1M with the shares? I replied hopefully inside 2yrs. Her reply was,...really, that long?
Sometimes you just have to laugh.
I have considered providing my three young daughters with a short list of shares, and asking them to pick one to invest $1K of their own money in. Thought it would be a good way of teaching the kids about researching, investing, and compounding growth. Even if they lose some, it would be a valuable life lesson in investing. My only regret is not starting earlier, as nothing is better than the benefit of time for any investment to grow in value.
