There is a real good podcast on lithium from a year ago called "The Lithium Gold Rush" from the podcast channel Inside/Out. Anyone with a spare hour should give it a listen. Really helps re-enforce the conviction that lithium batteries are going to be the only way we push green over the next decade.
It covers a few different topics throughout the podcast, but one is the environmental impacts that potential mines will have on the landscape along with its flora and fauna. They discuss that very flower, the Tiehm's Buckwheat located at Rhyolite Ridge in Nevada.
