There has been an interesting discussion here today in relation to NVP of sya’ s projects vs it’s market cap. From how I read it, it implies that NVP and market cap should generally be similar values.

I’m wondering (however) if there is a direct correlation of NVP of projects to market cap in the way that has been implied here (as I’m reading it). I would have thought market cap and NVP projections for existing projects aren’t the same thing and wouldn’t generally align 1:1.

My gut feeling is that market cap considers other factors such as brand reputation, leadership experience, entrepreneurial capacity, future expansion options, and forward market projections. I would expect that a market cap in the case of a company like SYA would exceed the cumulative sum of the NPV estimates for the current projects in play (once production has commenced ) within the companies portfiolio because there would be an expectation of future growth in pricing, projects, and market tailwinds, etc.

I’d appreciate thoughts on this if anyone has them.
