Not sure how this will play out in its final form, but from history they typically shoot for the stars and hope to hit the moon so while they want to go from 20% to 28.8%, I would expect for that to be watered down to 23% and they want it to apply only to those making $400k or more and that will flip to $800k or $1 Million.
I think if they get what I am proposing above they will consider it a win because from that point they can start inching it along over time, or just keep it where it is and let inflation eat it up.
I don't expect the republicans to have any of it and it may just completely die.
