Tesla is far more than a car company.
What is GM's grid storage plan?
What is Ford's solar roof plan?
Do any of them offer power walls or whole home battery systems.
Are any of the big 3 auto makers making an attempt to build battery cells in house, build cathodes, build refineries?
Name one that has invested in designs that allow one piece casting ?
Do any of them have a self-driving software that competes?
Have they thought through revenue streams for subscription services.
Do any of them have a car insurance program under-written by themselves?
I do not own Tesla, but I do admire that they are working hard in many areas and attempting to look at things in a new way.
Maybe one day they will stop innovating and become a GM or a Ford, but for now I think they are going to push the envelope.
