Well said.
I think they're just too arrogant to meet this expectation as they don't want to be seen as beckoning to people's request.
If many people have highlighted the problem with marketing/communications, and with marketing/communications being one of the most critical functions of a business (especially publicly listed business), why would they continue to neglect this function of the business?
It has to come down to arrogance and ego.
