PLS is in a JV with Calix (CXL an Aussie co) who are developing an electric calcinator to produce a lithium phosphate salt (that would potentially be used in LiFePO4 batteries). If the process proves to be technically and economically feasible, other producers such as SYA may be able to use the technology (especially using cheap hydro electric energy).
