I understand what you are saying. I don't think we'll hit recession, I think reserve banks around the world have learnt to not be too aggressive with interest rates' hikes. But there is currently serious derisking happening that will continue until interest rates stabilise, presumably once inflation is under control. This may be years away. 2024?
So what matters now is actual and potential ability to earn. If you're not there yet, shorters will batter your stock until there is no more.
Geopolitics is a different beast but I don't think it will continue for too long, I think/hope it will be resolved before Northern Hemisphere winter, October ish.
