yep, there is no getting around that Li is nasty stuff... but our demand for energy is far greater than our desire to reduce energy consumption. when you look at the abundance of Li and where it sits on the reduction-oxidation table (it packs a very very big punch) it is going to have a "life" as a storage mechanism.
