I'm not sure about your statement. So you don't monitor your investments until financial accounts are done? If so, I'm not sure why you are on HC, and why you would be investing at the risky end of the market.
FYI financial institutions will be running at MV each day, just revaluing at Financial year end, per international accounting standards,.... but NOT for tax, which still works on Historical Cost.
