Also, are you that naive to think that all political and financial decisions are made based on altruism, and that good business is completely objective.
Case in point, we have invested A LOT of capital in sucking things out of the ground, so option one is drain that resource until we've maximised our ROI or, immediate move to a new technology that can probably wait a few years but jump now and accept the hit on the sunk cost.....
