The river water changes are real, one river causing major flooding in one part of China and another drying up in a provence next door.
China is the industrial center of the world but believe in suppling themselves first part of their 5 year plan, self sufficiency, so shortages will be felt in other economies first.
This is one of the reasons why Europe U.S. wants the supply chain close to home and not be at the mercy of one country.
