The massive selloff last Friday was mostly manipulated to take advantage of Powell's hawkish position. Neither his position or words were top secret in any sense of the word- the markets already knew what he was going to say and already knew there was at least 3/4 of a point increase coming.
That was just massive profit-taking, and exploiting FUD.
On Monday we'll rebound something good, but I think probably around one more week (after September starts) before we're back to where we are.
